An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced HR ADVISOR with solid IR experience (dealing with unions) to join a world-leading company re-defining the cutting edge of high-tech logistics and freight forwarding, worldwide. With over 900 offices in more than 100 countries including sea freight, airfreight, rail, road, and contract logistics.

Full time role! Reporting to the General Manager HR based in Melbourne, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on HR Generalist to have a real impact on the business and help drive the HR function forward.

This role will be servicing 2 Sydney sites. The managers rely on this role for advice and support.

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• Providing assistance and advice to Managers with queries relating to employee relations, performance and behaviour management as required.
• Assisting in ensuring that Employee relations and industrial relations policies and processes are effectively implemented and maintained. This includes dealing with Unions.
• Assisting in the management of all aspects of the recruitment process from the placement of advertising, reviewing applications, setting up interviews, and advising applicants of the outcome.
• Coordinating and presenting HR related training.
• Participation in reporting and projects to support the HR Strategy.

To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
• Certificate III or IV in HR or a related discipline.
• Excellent knowledge and practice of HR generalist broad functions.
• Excellent IR legislation application and translation with exposure to unions is mandatory (preferably within a blue collar environment)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Well developed Performance Management and Employee Relations experience.
• Ability to coach line managers to successful management.
• Strong OH&S management and implementation.
• The ability to introduce business improvements and developments within the HR function.
• The ability to work autonomously and independently to the HR Head Office function.
