An excellent opportunity exists in Brisbane for an experienced and well respected Procurement & Contracts Manager to ensure effective procurement and contracts services are provided to the project team for this impressive global mining company. You will actively lead and contribute to new and dynamic team with a culture of safety, continuous improvement, cost effectiveness and operational discipline across the business.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, your overall purpose is to provide leadership and management whilst monitoring EPCM Contractors Contracts & Procurement functions. Within this your key responsibilities will be; ensuring the contractors schedules meet the operational requirements; building positive and effective relationships with contractor partners; coaching and developing your direct reports; reviewing tenders and contracts; and co-ordinating, monitoring; Improving systems and procedures and facilitating the award and variation processes.
To ensure your success within this influential role, you will have demonstrated similar experience preferably on mining contracts with strong interpersonal, analytical, reporting and problem solving skills. Ideally you will have qualifications in engineering/accounting or related discipline with a thorough understanding of the mining process and the ability to understand associated costs to effectively negotiate rates. And most importantly you must have come from a background in quantity surveying.
