About the role:

· Work is
primarily administration and paperwork.

· This
is NOT a laboratory testing role.

·
Generate and check product specifications

· Work
with (AFGC-PIF) Australian Food & Grocery Council – Product Initiation Form

· Join
the proactive QA department

·
Formulate Technical Product specifications

· Formulation
and maintenance of FSA Purchasing / Sales specifications

·
Evaluation of new/alternate raw materials as requested

·
Maintenance of supplier approval programme to meet SQF2000

· Create
/ change / file BOM’s Bill of Materials, MSDS Material Safety Data Sheets

· Conduct
internal and external audits

· Assist
R&D

·
Occasionally there may be overtime available but it is not essential and you
will know ahead of time.

· No
heavy lifting

· Conduct
factory production checks

· Partake
in continuous improvement to ensure procedures and checks are improved

Skills and Experience:

·
TAFE or Uni Food Technology or similar

·
Experience in a similar role

·
Commitment to quality and ensuring that everything
is done properly

·
Excellent verbal and written communications in
English

·
Ability to work around spices

·
Good people skills. Be firm but gentle.

·
Ability to gain the respect of the production
people and be there to help them get it right rather than just be the policeman

·
Own transport as this workplace is not well
serviced by public transport

·
Ability to effectively communicate with everyone
from the production floor to management, regulatory authorities and customers

·
Ability to ‘manage’ people, assert authority in a
constructive manner to ensure staff modify their activities to reduce errors,
ask if they are not sure, and reduce errors and ensure agreed procedures are
followed

·
Keenness for a long term career in this area and
willingness to be trained in other area e.g. preop tests, laboratory etc for
multiskilling, assisting colleagues and future career progression

·
High commitment to quality and understanding of
HACCP.

·
Ability to get along with and build rapport
people from a wide range of countries, cultures and backgrounds
