OUR VISION: A suicide-free
Western Australian Building and Construction Industry where workers and their
families are mentally healthy.
MIC WA is a registered charity that delivers the MATES
in Construction suicide awareness program to de-stigmatise mental health and wellbeing
issues on construction sites. The community development model creates
self-sustaining suicide intervention and wellbeing support structures to
encourage help seeking and build resilience. It is about “MATES helping
MATES”.
The MIC program is evidence-based and has received
Suicide Prevention Australia’s LIFE Award, and National Safety Council Awards
for Best Workplace Health and Wellbeing Program and Excellence in Occupational
Health and Safety.

families.You will be a creative, flexible and empathic Case Manager/Field
Officer with hight levels of integrity and initiative.

The role will include:
  • Site visits, training and facilitation,
    administration
  • Client assessment, referral, support
  • Crisis intervention
The position is based in Maylands and is subject to
meeting key performance indicators. Professional training is provided.
Conditions
  • Salary range $65,000 to $70,000 per annum
    (reviewed annually)

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in human services,
    social welfare or allied areas, eligible for full membership of a relevant
    professional body (Degree as min requirement)
  • Demonstrated experience in working with complex
    clients, using a partnership, strengths-based and client-centred approach,
    to achieve agreed outcomes 
  • Ability to understand and work within a building
    and construction environment
  • Persuasive and passionate about promoting mental
    health
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge and experience in training/facilitation
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal
    skills including the ability to negotiate and advocate
  • Current state/territory Australian driver’s
    license
  • National Police Clearance and Working with
    Children Check
  • Capacity to work outside of normal business hours
    as required, as well as a willingness to travel intra and interstate
Desirable:
  • Understanding of government and non-government
    organisations within the local area
  • Understanding of community development principles
  • Experience working in a building/construction
    environment
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
