College of Business (CoB) comprises 6 Schools delivering a broad range of
programs in Business at Traineeship, Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, Masters
and PhD levels.
RMIT
Business programs are delivered in Melbourne, Vietnam, Singapore, Shanghai and
Jakarta, as well as through Open Universities Australia (OUA).
The
Lecturer is expected to contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the
School in disciplines related to their field of expertise. More specifically,
the Lecturer is responsible for carrying out teaching activities within
undergraduate, Masters and Graduate Diploma programs and for maintaining and
advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities. The
Lecturer is also expected to actively promote the program by establishing and
maintaining memberships, links and partnerships with academic, industry and
professional communities. As such, a demonstrated ability to prepare and
deliver programs and courses at undergraduate and post-graduate levels and the
ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials in the required
fields of expertise is essential for this position. The successful candidate
will also have a track record for quality research outputs which will
contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by
publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research
funding, and industry link together with a demonstrated ability to supervise
higher degree by research candidates.
It
is considered essential for this role that you will have completed a PhD or
equivalent in a relevant field.
With
a College-wide focus on building research capacity around Global Business
Innovation, academic staff working within the Governance, Accountability and
the Law research sub-platform seek to improve knowledge and understanding of
governance, accountability and the law in public and private organisations,
both in profit and non-profit contexts. The broad goal is to minimise corporate
failure, financial losses, and improve sustainable management practice. This
research is concerned with the state and levels of governance and
accountability in organisations, economy and society, as well as with the forms
of regulation, and legal reforms that are required to enhance governance and
accountability globally.
