Our Client is highly regarded and well known consultancy within the Civil Land
Development sector, as progressive consultant who continually deliver quality
design solutions to their clients.  This is a new opportunity for a Civil
Project Manager with experience in the Land Development sector to join a
leading consultancy in Melbourne.
 


The role is to Project Manage, develop and design a combination of simple and
complex projects that are compliant to standards and meet both the business
objectives and client needs.

My client is looking for an enthusiastic candidate who wants the chance to
prove themselves, someone who is tenacious and is hungry to do well and
progress. My client will consider candidates with 4 + years Project management
and ideally a design background but not essential. There is of course support
and training for those who may lack PM experience however they are keen for you
to go at your own pace. This also applies for more senior experienced
candidates that are looking for that next step up or looking for a busier,
larger and more vibrant company (which is certainly what my client can offer)
Along with 10 + years of work in the pipeline.

Location (s) – Southern Suburbs / South East Suburbs / CBD  Eastern
Suburbs

The Role – Responsibilities – Civil Project Manager

• Client management – Feedback – Progress Reporting – Project Timelines
• Tender and contract documentation – Plan, design and determine cost of
projects.
• Verification of projects.
• Take responsibility for the decision making about construction problems and
resolve any design on monetary issues.
• Attend and contribute to regular site meetings.
• Coordinate each stage of the project with the relevant Authorities.
• Ensure processing of contractor claims and relevant Authority payments.
• Apply new engineering approaches and techniques.
• Coordinate and Monitor the maintenance of project documentation.
• Manage Design Documents and ensure all are compliant
• 12D design and design review This part of the role is not essential for you,
however the option is there to take on design work if you wish or you can
utilize the existing civil design team.

Key Skills needed to apply for the Civil Project Manager role:

  • A
    strong background within a civil engineering consultancy – Minimum 5 years
    within a similar role (candidates will be considered from a construction /
    contractor background in Land Development / Sub Divisions also)
  • Ideally
    a technical 12D design background – Excellent design review / verification
    will suffice. 
  • Degree
    qualified to a Bachelor of engineering (Civil) or Diploma in Engineering
  • Ideally
    you will have a qualification within project management however years’
    experience will suffice.
  • Experience
    managing multiple projects with a strong focus on delivery.
  • Understanding
    of design standards, related water authorities (water standards) and
    council standards (ideal but not essential)
  • Good
    understanding of stormwater drainage design and treatment principles
  • Hands
    on experience in land development construction and design at a strong
    level
  • Strong
    background, knowledge and understanding of OHS knowledge
