QUEENSLAND … where the bush meets the sea.

The Central
Queensland Region is vast
and diverse
. It extends from Wide Bay North to just south of
Proserpine, from the Coast in the East to as far West as the border. Over two
hundred (200) permanent teachers are annually recruited to fill vacant
positions across all teaching sectors. Leadership opportunities are also
available in various school centres, however through a separate application
process.

The Central
Queensland Region (CQR) has a 
total of 190 schools
with a breakdown of :-

* 52 x remote
centres * 86 x rural centres, and * 52 x regional centres.

The 190 schools in
Central Queensland include :-

* 158 x Primary
Schools * 25 x Secondary Schools * 4 x Students with Disabilities or Special
Schools, and * 3 x Distance Education centres

Applicants must be
eligible to obtain Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) Registration before
their permanent start date, or commencing working in a Central Qld (CQ) school.

Offers of Permanent
Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful
completion of their university teaching studies, and a current suitabilty
ranking.

Applications will
remain on file for 12 months and may be considered for other teaching
vacancies.

Eligibility
for Permanent Employment

Permanent employment as a teacher is available to:

* Australian
citizens; * Persons who reside in Australia and have permission or a right to
be granted permission, under Commonwealth law, to remain in Australia
indefinitely; * or New Zealand citizens who have a special category visa or a
right to be granted a special category visa under the Migration Act 1958.
