To sup-port its vision, Horizon Group Ltd needs to operate with a robust and competent Human Re-sources capability. The company also needs to operate within an effective financial management and control framework.
In view of the above, Horizon Group is seeking to recruit competent, effective and seasoned se-nior Managers to drive its business. Interested and qualified individuals are invited to apply;
GROUP INTERNAL AUDITOR (GIA)
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Group Internal Auditor would;
• Develop audit strategies for all areas of audit in accordance with the risk based approach and Group audit methodology
• Ensure compliance with acceptable audit standards in mitigation of business and opera-tional risks
• Prepare formal written reports, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and the efficiency , with which activities are carried out
• Report audit findings and make pragmatic and practical recommendations to address any weaknesses identified
• Determine the critical areas of risk and appraise their significance in relation to operational and strategic factors and make recommendations to reduce risk and add value
• Appraise the adequacy of corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions
• Develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships, through individual con-tracts and group meetings
Internal Control Review
• Develop internal audit review plans, focusing on the audit of operations and processes
• Develop from risk/control matrix, appropriate audit programs for each audit area
• Allocate and supervise to other audit staff work and assignments
• Ensure that management is kept informed of all significant issues and liaise with managers across all business units to promote best practice
• Liaise with managers on assurance and or ageing risk impacts of any weaknesses
• Ensure that management letter points raised by external auditors receive due attention
• Survey functions and activities in assigned area to determine the nature of operations and adequacy of system of controls to achieve established objectives
Internal Audit Plan
• Prepare audit plan for the year and agree with the CEO
• Schedules, budgets for each task must be agreed with the CEO
• Explain Budget overruns
Compliance Audit Review
• Identification of risk areas requiring high degree of assurance and performance of compliance audit reviews to mitigate business risk
• Performance of special investigations (Management Requests, forensic audit/surprise audits)
• Recommend on how to improve controls within traditional and recently developed ac-counting and operational processes
Reporting of findings
• Make oral / written presentations to senior management during and at conclusion of audit discussing deficiencies and recommending corrective action to improve operations and reducing costs
• Prepare formal written reports expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency with which activities are carried out
• Appraise the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions
• Liaise with the auditee to agree on the findings and recommendation
• Monthly reports to the CEO
• Perform any incidental tasks from time to time that are necessary for the furtherance of the above duties and responsibilities in the best interest of the company
