Type of Contract: 12 months renewable
Key Responsibilities
• Mobilization of farmers cooperatives
• Facilitate farmers in the establishment of on-farm demonstration plots and monitor them.
• Provide support to different subject matter specialists or consultants involved in specialized trainings.
• Preparation of Monthly, quarterly and annual project progressive reports.
• Work in close collaboration with sector, district authorities, Agronomists
Job requirements and Competencies:
Qualifications
• Training in Agriculture or related field with A Bachelors of science degree in Agriculture or a minimum of a higher Diploma in Agriculture (A1)
• Hold a Motorcycle riding Licence.(category A)
Experience:
At least 3 years working in the field with farmers cooperatives, preferably with NGOs or the public sector.
Knowledge and skills
• Ability to identify farmers and work closely with them as regards project activities
• Ability to mobilize farmers into active and cohesive le cooperatives;
• Ability to plan and implement scheduled activities
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Other skills include:
• Computer literate: Word, and Excel
Language: Having good English writing skills will be an added advantage.
