• To support effective working relationships with members, funders, media representatives and other appropriate stakeholders and use these relationships to develop new opportunities.
• To work with the existing team on various fundraising initiatives through projects proposals writing.
• To create and maintain donor databases.
• To ensure that YWCA Rwanda’s website is current and updated with accurate content.
• Translate YWCA Rwanda’s documents and help in preparation of reports involving the organization.
• Reporting regularly on communication and fundraising activities.
• Draft speeches for stakeholders as required, and arrange interviews or other forms of contact for them.
• Assist in the coordination of awareness and education events to gain public attention through the media without advertising directly.
• Assist in identifying main client groups and audiences, determine the best way to communicate publicity information to them, monitor and implement a communications plan.
• Develop and maintain media contact lists.
• Any other appropriate duties that may be assigned by the superior.
Requirements
• Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication, languages, marketing with proven experience in projects designing and proposal writing
• Computer skills (Ms Word, Excel, Power point etc)
• Excellent English writing skills.
• Self-motivator, flexible, innovative and enthusiastic.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent team spirit
