Job description:

The CHABHA-BFI part- time Drama teacher will have the responsibility of
teaching Drama skills to children in our after school and weekend program. Our
end goal is to develop Drama skills in children that will help other children
not only to become better people with a strong moral character and good
standings, but also to fight the stigma/marginalization of people living with
HIV/AIDs in their communities through performances and gatherings.

CHABHA -BFI Project:

CHABHA is a humanitarian organization with the mission of raising awareness on
the plight of children affected by HIV/Aids and the belief that every child has
a fundamental right to education, health and the joy of being a child. Our goal
under this project is to meet Children’s emotional, social, health, and
educational needs, build character and self-esteem, and strengthen their
ability, through skills and mental discipline, to succeed in life.

Job responsibilities:

She/he will have the following specific responsibilities: Teach drama skills
through rehearsals three times a week (two working days and Saturday) for
approximately 3 hours per day at Kagugu Primary School. The drama teacher will
also be expected to develop a curriculum (that incorporates lessons on values,
self esteem, and hope for a better future for the children), organize
performances/events and study tours, monitor and evaluate the progress of
participants (children), and write a progress report to the project coordinator
on a quarterly basis.

Requirements:

College/University graduate in any related field to the position with a long
experience in Drama. She/he must have a strong moral character with a passion
of working with Children, especially HIV/AIDS orphans. The applicant must be
fluent in English and Kinyarwanda.
