Aegis Trust is an INGO whose aim is to prevent crimes against humanity and who
manages Kigali Genocide Memorial. Besides managing the Memorial, Aegis Trust
has several programs including education programs, the Genocide Archive of
Rwanda, Social Enterprises and Social Programs. This is an exciting opportunity
for someone who wants to advance his/her career and has the ambition to work in
an INGO with the focus on prevention of crimes against humanity. At the moment
Aegis Trust would like to recruit qualified candidates to fulfil the Cataloger job vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Catalogs
videos, books, still photographs, documents and publications. - Indexes
videos using Glifos according to the methods established by Aegis Trust. - Applies
metadata to a variety of digital files. - Performs
administrative duties related to organizing the collections.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience
with moving image and serials cataloging. - Experience
with full-level cataloging. - Knowledge
of data and image management concepts and indexing practices and
procedures. - Excellent
computer skills including familiarity with relational databases and
aptitude for quickly learning a variety of computer software and systems. - Familiarity
with handling archival materials. - Ability
to perform multiple tasks efficiently, maintaining a high level of
accuracy and consistency; - Knowledge
of Rwandan history and genocide. - Strong
writing and communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English or French. - Experience
with digital image collections.
