Laterite is looking for brilliant and
highly-motivated young people to assist with our research efforts as
enumerators. We hire enumerators on a project-basis. This makes it an ideal job
for university students who cannot commit to a fulltime position. Laterite’s
enumerators will also benefit from monthly training sessions aimed at improving
their professional development. This includes workshops on how to effectively
work with Microsoft Excel and Power Point, perform basic statistical analysis,
and excel at job interviews.

Enumerators are hired on project-basis, which means
that enumerators are contacted each time a new project begins. Project duration
varies between 2 to 8 weeks.

Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews in the field using survey
instruments designed by Laterite Ltd. and follow instructions closely and
diligently - Test the questionnaires designed by Laterite
Ltd. in the field - Test the sampling strategy designed by
Laterite Ltd. - Act in a professional and honest manner and
serve as example to fellow enumerators - Document issues that arise during interviews
and communicate them to the field coordinator - Take notes during focus group discussions
- Keep track of expenses as instructed
- Transmit data collected on a daily basis
- Assist in any other tasks related to the
delivery of the project at hand
Minimum Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a university or holding
a bachelor’s degree - Excellent proficiency in Kinyarwanda and
English (French would be considered an asset) - Good computer skills: ability to type in
Microsoft Word - Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work in rural areas and on
weekends, if required - Sharp problem-solving skills
- Consistent punctuality
