This individual
is a qualified obstetrician-gynecologist and responsible for providing
high-level obstetrics and gynecological care for the Butaro District Hospital
and Cancer Center. S/he will be responsible for the provision of ob/gyn
clinical services, and will direct ob/gyn quality improvement initiatives. S/he
will also be responsible to liaise with the Butaro Hospital oncology program to
effectively support gynecologic oncologic care, including supporting staging
and biopsy of cervical and other

effectively support gynecologic oncologic care, including supporting staging

gynecologic malignancies, supporting cervical
cancer screening activities, and assisting in developing gynecologic oncologic
treatment plans and follow-up. The individual will be directly involved in
teaching activities in maternal health, including weekly mentorship of the
midwife who serves as a clinical mentor to district health center nurses in
maternal health.
Requirements
for the position:

- Qualified obstetrician-gynecologist. This
includes 1) successful completion of a post-graduate ob/gyn training
program, and 2) qualification (example: MMed in ob/gyn from accredited
university) - Comfort in managing a broad range of obstetrical
emergencies and gynecologic disease in the district hospital setting - Interest in gynecologic oncology and willingness
to expand gynecological oncologic skills - Interest in quality improvement initiatives
including comprehensive approaches to maternal mortality reduction - Excellent oral communication skills and
email-based communication skills - Passion for clinical education and ability to
effectively teach and mentor - Ability to effectively communicate (speaking and
writing) in English, Kinyarwanda and French - Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
