Description
The
National Pharmacy Council is an independent statutory organization accountable
for the regulation of pharmacy professionals in Rwanda. It plays an advisory
role to the Ministry of Health and pharmacy institutions training programs on
all matters related to the pharmacy

profession. It was set up by the Law No
45/2012 of 14/01/2013 relating to the organization, functioning and competence
of the NPC. The NPC is governed by a National Council Board of 23 elected
members. In order to carry out its mission, the Bureau of the National Council
Board shall be assisted in its daily activities by a Permanent Secretariat. The
Permanent Secretary reports to the Bureau of the National Council through the
Executive Secretary of the Bureau who is his/her supervisor.

CPD, Research & Communication Coordinator – NPC
The
CPD Program will ensure the provision of the highest quality of health care
through u variety of structured educational opportunities that incorporate the
most current knowledge, skills, and ethical attitudes to all pharmacists and
pharmacy technicians in Rwanda. The CPD coordinator will assist pharmacists and
pharmacy technicians to maintain and acquire new and up-to-date knowledge,
skills and ethical attitudes that will be of measurable benefit in professional
practice and to enhance and promote professional integrity. The ultimately
beneficiary will be the clients.
Specific
responsibilities CPD

Plan the annual CPD program to include seminars, workshops and conferences

Develop and implement accreditation standards for both CPD activities and CPD
providers to ensure high quality CM) activities.

Use questionnaires/surveys/discussions, in consultation with the bureau to
contribute to the further identificatiotf/analysis of training needs. Collate
professional development needs arising from the performance management and
offer advice and guidance on suitable opportunities for professional growth

Assess opportunities for e learning and use of ICT in professional development

In consultation with the bureau, provide advice on cancer development for
pharmacists and pharmacy technicians

Provide support for colleagues undertaking accredited professional development
/ action research etc., monitor progress and know where to go to seek further
support if needed
Research
•Establish
and manage the NPC consultancy bureau

Conduct research for the pharmacy council and develop reports, identify
opportunities and advise the bureau

Review research papers, reports and other documentations and advise the bureau
on way forward

Represent the national pharmacy council in research conferences and other
events as needed

Provide guidance and advise on research methodologies and inform the bureau

Collaborate with the research committee on any mutter related to-research
Communication

Maintain the national pharmacy council website and update it regularly

Manage all communication materials within the NPC

Review minutes and coordinate reports writing within technical committees
Qualification
and competencies

Bachelor degree in pharmacy, a Master degree would be a plus

At least 3 years’ experience in research related activities

Skills in writing proposal and reports

Fluent in English and French

Team player and collaboration skills

Communication skills

Computer skills
