In order to execute its ambitious growth strategy, UAP Insurance Rwanda
Limited seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated, ambitious and experienced
national for the position of Cashier / accounts Assistant. This position
will be based at the Company Head offices at Grand Pension Plaza, 7th
Floor, Kigali, Rwanda.
CASHIER/ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
Purpose of the position
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Cashier/Accounts Assistant will
ensure premiums and any other payments made by our customers (Both internal and
external) are well receipted and accounted for to the satisfaction of every
party involved
Receive, record, and account for all payments made to the company, and
ensure all monies received is kept safe and banked on time.
Principal accountabilities 
  • Receipting of cash and
    cheques to the correct policies and accounts
  • Banking of the cash
    and cheques to specific banks.
  • Reconciliation of the
    cash and cheques receipted to those that have been banked.
  • Reconciliation of
    clients’ accounts
  • Interpreting the
    clients’ accounts to their understanding.
  • Ensure that postdated
    cheques are receipted and banked as they fall due
  • Ensure that correct
    cash levels are maintained and alert the relevant authority when the level
    has exceeded, to facilitate banking
  • Ensure that the cash
    office is secure at all times
  • Ensure proper
    distribution and filing of receipts
  • Ensure all received
    monies are receipted in the accounting system
  • Generate daily receipt
    summary and ensure it reconciles with deposit slip
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with Chartered Public Accounting (CPA)
full/part is an added advantage.
