Key responsibilities
*Business growth
Sets business targets for the branch.
He/she follows on implementation to the targets are achieved.

The targets include:
- Deposit
growth - Loan
growth - ATM
card sales - Mobile
bank products - New
customers - Participate,
own and implement all special sales programs (different sales campaigns), - Sale
of other products - Collection
of all income fees and commissions - Processing
loan applications as quick as possible. - Follow
up loan recovery
*Financial management
- Review
and approve all branch expenses - Ensure
the branch is profitable - Ensures
petty cash reports are submitted to the head office in time
Ensure that the following processes,
controls and operations are effectively done,

- Reduction
of operational losses to 0.5% (cash deficits, surpluses etc….) - cash
controls are done close of business every day, - commissions
and interest are collected on all relevant client accounts - Approval
of all transactions - all
accounts opened are KYC compliant. - cash
ceilings at all Branch locations remain within set bank limits. - Conducting
snap-checks on cash control register - Full
compliance with the bank policies and procedures including cash management
processes - Implementation
of all audit recommendations
*People management
Ensure that:
- Staff
in the Branch have job descriptions and performance contracts - Staff
are appraised at mid-year, end of year and at end of probationary
period - Staff
are trained and coached - Refresher
trainings are provided to the staff under his/her supervision - All
staff under his/her supervision have a maximum of five annual leave days
at the end of the year - Staff
are dressed according to Corporate standards - Staff
report on duty on time - Weekly
staff meetings are organized
*Customer Service
- Respond
to customer complaints promptly - Ensure
teller transactions are completed as per the standards of the service
level agreements - Ensure
loan processing turnaround time is within set standards - Ensure
customer satisfaction survey is above 70%
*Branch assets and logistics
Ensures that:
- All
counting machines, photocopy machines, computers, vehicles, printers and
generator are fully serviced and operational - Furniture
is well maintained - Old
assets are disposed of - All
documents are filed - The
office environment is maintained clean
Qualifications required
- At
least a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Economics, management or Finance.
A Masters Degree in a similar field is an added advantage
- At
least 3 years’ experience as a Branch manager, Sub Branch Manager,
relationship manager in a Bank or Micro-Finance, or
financial institution
Should have the following:
