Project
Description:
Land
O’Lakes International Development is seeking candidates for the Chief of Party
(COP) position for an anticipated Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable Food,
Agriculture, and Nutrition Activity. The objective of this activity is to
increase smallholder farmer incomes, improve the nutritional status of Rwandan
women and children, and increase the resilience of the agriculture and food
system to the changing climate.
Position
Summary and Primary Responsibilities:
The
Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist will lead activities to
facilitate access to markets, access to finance and strengthening business
skills of farmers and other value chain actors. The successful candidate will
have excellent understanding and technical experience in improving access to
market and climate information, expanding access to credit and financial
services and linking farmers to various market opportunities.
Reporting:
The
Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist will report to the Chief
of Party.
Required
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Master’s
    degree in Finance, Business Administration, economics, marketing and/or
    related field, or undergraduate degree with equivalent work experience
  • Minimum
    5 years of progressively more responsible international work experience in
    business development;
  • Experience
    working directly to integrate the poor into market opportunities;
  • Experience
    and understanding of market facilitation approaches to increase
    productivity for smallholder’s farmers;
  • Experience
    designing and managing gender sensitive agricultural activities;
  • Fluency
    in French and Kinyarwanda preferred; and, Excellent English language
    writing and communication skills.
