- Work
with the Management Committee (MC) of the ADF under its Chair to establish
a functional secretariat for the ADF. - With
supervision of the ADF MC, develops policies, procedures, documentation
and systems which ensure productive and efficient office operation, as
well as oversees and administers the day-to-day activities of the office; - Provides
assistance and support to the Chair of the ADF Management Committee in
proposal writing/fundraising, project planning and management. - Ensure
vibrant engagement with members of the ADF to ensure execution of stated
goals and objectives of the ADF and its programs. - Oversees
the operation of office accounts unit, and plans and monitors
expenditures; as appropriate, develops and/or coordinates budgets for
associated projects and accounts. - Provides
assistance in the understanding and interpretation of organizations
policies and procedures, as appropriate, and ensures that office
operations are in compliance with policy provisions and standards. - Assists
in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special tasks, and
projects as appropriate.

and Abilities Required
and Abilities Required
- Passion
for democracy development in Africa. - Ability
to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting. - Knowledge
of office management principles and procedures. - Effective
verbal and written communication skills. - Strong
interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range
of constituencies in a diverse community. - Computer
Proficiency (MS Word/Excel) and ability to prepare reports. - Ability
to use independent judgment, analyze and solve problems. - Skill
in organizing resources and establishing priorities. - Ability
to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on
sensitive, confidential issues with highest level of integrity and
professionalism - Ability
to foster a cooperative work environment. - Ability
to work under pressure and under minimum supervision. - Attentive
to details, flexible and adaptable. - Basic
Financial/ Accounting knowledge would be an added advantage
Academic
Qualifications
Qualifications
- BSc/HND
in Public Administration, Political Science, Communication or related
Social Sciences. - Prior
experience in development work will be of advantage - Proficiency
in both English and French language will be of advantage
