Plan currently operates in Gatsibo, Rwamagana, Bugesera, Nyaruguru, 
Gicumbi, Karongi, Kirehe, Huye, Gisagara and Nyamagabe.  Plan
International Rwanda has entered into partnership with UNHCR and other partners
to implement Sexual & Gender Based Violence Responses and Child protection
in all Refugees Camps across the country.

Job
summary
The
Driver will provide transport to staff, visitors, communities and other
partners on official functions aligned with Plan Logistics and fleet management
procedures.
Dimensions
of Role:
Financial
measures or statistics relevant to post such as budget; list of direct and
indirect reports
The
post holder will report to the Protection Coordinator in Camp with dotted line
supervision of the Country office Logistics & Administration Officer. He
has no people under his/her supervision. The post holder has no direct
management of departmental budget.
Typical
Responsibilities – Key End Results of Position:
“What”
is done and “why”, but not “how”; include indicators for success
  • Drive
    the Office car(s) for different purposes:  transportation of goods
    and persons (staff, managers, and visitors), liaison with CO, specific
    missions on   request (travel   agencies, banks, gas
    stations, project office   supplies…)
  •  Take
    care for good working conditions and maintenance of   project
    car.
  • Provide 
    help and support in the process of purchasing  and acquiring goods
    and services
  • Make
    call upon and supervise external technicians
  • Register
    order forms (pro forma) and care for  administrative formalities
  • Always
    ensure that passengers carry an Mission order
  • Perform
    any other duty assigned by the supervisor

The
Office Driver strictly follows the Plan International Rwanda policies and SOPs
regarding the use of vehicles, taking all driving responsibilities.
Communications
and Working Relationships:
Working
contacts inside and outside the organization; include the purpose and level
(high, medium, low) of the contact
The
Driver will be working closely with Camp all departments at PU, Logistic
Officer, Camps  and project areas. He will extend relations with External
stakeholders (mechanics, petrol stations, suppliers, service providers …)
 He
will be requested to be more flexible and committed to customer service, strong
team working skill and external relations. 
Knowledge,

through education, training, & experience
Educational
Qualification and Experience
  • Preferably,
    A2 auto mechanics or related studies.
  • At
    least 5 years practical relevant working experience in Driving
  • NGOs
    working experience is an added value
  • Valid
    driving license class B
Skills
Specific to the Post
  • Able
    to communicate (writing and reading) in English language
  • Computer
    literate (Ms. Word and Excel)
  • Mechanical
    skills
  • Ability
    to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
  • Strong
    team-building and motivational skills
Physical
Environment and Demands:
May
be “typical office environment”; note if heavy lifting, climbing, excess
travel, etc.
Based
in Camp with frequent travels to Country Office and Program Units
Level
of Contact with Children:
High
Contact:    Frequent interaction with children in the Camp
