Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is offering Engineering for
Development (E4D) doctoral scholarships for the year 2017. The scholarships are
offered to students who meet the entrance requirements for doctoral
studies at ETH Zurich.
The goal of the
Engineering for Development (E4D) programme is to promote the development of
products or methods which are directly relevant to improving the livelihoods of
poor people in developing coun
tries.
ETH Global is the
staff unit for international relations at ETH Zurich. It fosters international
partnerships in research and education and enhances the institution’s
visibility abroad.
Course
Level: Scholarships
are available for pursuing the doctoral program.

Award: Per
proposal, a scholarship of CHF 175’000 can be granted for a period of three
years (salary of doctoral student plus limited operational costs).

Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirements:
In principle, all university graduates with a Master’s degree or an equivalent
university degree can apply for admission to doctoral studies.
How to Apply: The application in
electronic form is submitted by the professor of ETH Zurich who has accepted to
supervise the candidate. The proposal of maximum 15 pages has to include the
following elements:
