The new Ghent
University Top-up Grants is an offer for all new students from least
developed Countries, low-income countries, lower middle-income countries and
upper middle-income countries. Grants are available to pursue the master or
master-after-master degree programme taught in English.
Ghent University is

Scholarship
Award:
The scholarship fee consists of:
- Allowance
of €650 per month. - All-in
insurance (health, civil liability, repatriation)
Airline ticket and
visa costs are not included in the grant.

Each year, a minimum of 10 scholarships can be awarded.

Eligibility: The following criteria must
be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship.
New students who
wish to obtain a Master’s or Master-after-Master’s degree at Ghent University.
Degree
- You
have to have a bachelor degree when applying for a Master programme. - You
have to have a Master degree when applying for a Master-after-Master
programme.
Nationality:
Students
have to come from a country on the long list of the OESO-DAC
country list.

Entrance
Requirements: Students must have a bachelor degree when applying for a
Master programme
English language
Requirements: To be able to determine the proficiency of someone’s knowledge of
Dutch or English, Ghent University uses the Common European Framework Reference
for Foreign Languages. There are six foreign language proficiency levels and is
a basis for the recognition of language qualifications.
How to
Apply:
You cannot apply yourself. The programme you apply for selects a maximum of 3
top-students.
Application
Deadline:
There’s no open call. Each programme (taught in English) proposes their top 3
applicants to the Committee for Development Cooperation (CDC). The decision
will be taken May 18, 2017, by the CDC.
