    Officers (2)
VFR
would like to recruit competent and experienced Compliance Officers to work
under Credit and Compliance department.
Directly
reporting to: Senior Compliance Officer
Duty
station: Kigali
Education/Experience:
University
degree in economics, accounting, business administration; 2years experience in
microfinance industry
Special
/ Personal Abilities:
  • Determined
    personality with initiative, perseverance and the ability to motivate and
    manage a team
  • Capability
    and willingness to take responsibility and highly developed sense of
    reliability and correctness
  • Good
    knowledge on economic, financial topics.
  • Be
    a good trainer, facilitator, mentor, and coach
  • Very
    good communication skills
  • Familiar
    with Microsoft applications
  • Excellent
    compliance or operation skills
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR COMPLIANCE
  1. Review
    and monitor institutional strategic objectives to ensure they are
    operationalized and adhered to.
  2. Monitor
    violations of credit policies, provide analysis, conclusion and
    recommendations, present findings and suggest actions to be taken when
    appropriate.
  3. Maintain
    an understanding and awareness of applicable laws and regulations
  4. Ensure
    effective communication of policies and other control requirements
  5. Collaborate
    with other departments (e.g., Recovery Management, Internal Audit, etc.)
    to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for
    investigation and resolution.
  6. Identify
    potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements
    corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides
    general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the
    future.
  7. Act
    as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance
    Issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated,
    investigated and fixed.
  8. Monitor,
    and as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments
    to remain abreast of the status of all compliance activities and to
    identify trends.
  9. Provide
    reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested by management
    informed of the operations and progress of compliance effort.
Reconciliation
duties
  1. Manage
    and coordinate loan reconciliation between field, MIS and finance data.
  2. Ensures
    an effective procedure remedies problems in credits reconciliations
    properly.
  3. To
    perform any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the immediate
    Supervisor.
  4. Collaborate
    with MIS and IT administrator to fix any problem that may be raised in
    regards to credit operations.
