AIMS Centre provides an intensive and broad education to over 50 African

The
Teacher Training Program (TTP) Rwanda is a five-year blended (face-to-face and
online) training Program seeking to enhance the capacity of secondary school
teachers (in-service and pre-service) in the teaching of mathematics, biology,
chemistry and physics with the use of information technologies as a key
component in teaching and learning. In partnership with the Government of
Rwanda, the Rwanda education board (REB) and the University of Rwanda college
of education (UR-CE), the Program will equip teachers with skills, tools and
resources to implement the competency based curriculum (CBC) using the
Mathematics and Sciences for Sub-Saharan Africa (MS4SSA) approach adopted from
the World Bank.

Analyst (IT Analyst) is responsible to support the Program’s IT needs –
primarily training and the provision of technical support. Essentially,
the IT Analyst will troubleshoot and/or perform systems diagnostics to identify
issues and effectively respond to them in order to ensure a smooth delivery of
teaching and learning service and materials across all the schools of the
Program.

- A
degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline, a
Master’s degree is an asset - At
least 2 years’ experience as a systems analyst, IT administrator or
technical support provider is required - Experience
with use of IT for education is an added advantage
- Demonstrate
experience in each of the following: - Installation
of operating systems clients such as Linux/Ubuntu 14.04 or later - Installation,
configuration and administration of operating systems server such as
Linux/Ubuntu 14.04 or latest versions with all the key services like
Firewall, Proxy,DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Print, Backup etc. - Use
of system and network monitoring tools - Diagnosing
and resolving PC problems in a networked environment - Have
experience working in a similar role providing IT Analyst services - Experience
with virtualized infrastructure - Experience
in supporting users on Sage 300 ERP (Formerly ACCPAC), FOSS, LaTex,
Phython, SageMath, MS Office and Google Apps
- Proven
experience and ability to work hands on in a predominantly Linux/Ubuntu
and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) platform as well as Windows
server and desktop operating system
- Knowledge
of English and Kinyarwanda is essential; A knowledge of French would be an
added advantage - Experience
working in an NGO is an added advantage
