Rwanda records more 24 new COVID-19 cases

The number of confirmed cases with COVID-19 has decreased slightly; Rwanda confirmed 24 new cases on Tuesday, the lowest in the last four days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases to 636, and 338 recoveries while active cases are 296.

The country reported 31 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday 13 June and 41 cases were reported the following day on Sunday, the largest number ever.

30 New COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday 15 June.

As for today’s cases, according to the Rwandan Ministry of Health “New cases relate to the Rusizi cluster, as well as repatriated Rwandans.”

Many cases were reported nearly two weeks ago in Rusizi.

Under total lockdown, a large part of the district is isolated along with Rubavu district, also from the western province.

The cabinet meeting that was convened today is expected to give further instruction on the direction the country should take, two weeks after the resumption of public transportation and moto-taxi transportation between provinces.
