I have always believed that, when you are given an opportunity to serve, you must serve humanity irrespective of where they come from. However, the case with the ijaw people is far different. While they celebrate the nepotistic and tribalistic style of leadership orchestrated by their leaders, People like us take notice of THEIR very crude style of leadership.
- When president Jonathan was President of the federal republic of Nigeria, he played the Ijaw card to the detriment of all of us from the Niger Delta region..
(a) He Appointed An Ijaw Minister from Ondo State; he also appointed an Ijaw man from Ondo state as SA to the President on Amnesty.
(b) President Jonathan appointed an Ijaw man Minister from Delta State.
(c) Jonathan also appointed an Ijaw woman from Bayelsa State a minister.
(d) Jonathan appointed an Ijaw man Minister From River State ( Ajoumogobia)
(e) He went ahead to make a man WITH Ijaw affinity in Kogi State whose mother was Ijaw GMD of NNPC.
(f) Jonathan sacked Temisan Omatseye, an Itsekiri man appointed by Yaradua just about 18months into his office as NIMASA DG and replaced him WITH an IJAW man, PATRICK Akpokolomebei
2.Inspite of the failure of James Manager In Delta South senatorial district, his Ijaw People have kept voting for him to remain in the senate. Painfully, when you speak to them, they will say, his failures doesnt matter, let him remain there as far as he is an Ijaw man.
- Prof Peretomode was appointed Vice Chancellor, Delta State University by an Itsekiri man, all he did was to recruit over 170-Ijaws (his children and relatives inclusive) to the detriment of other Ethnic groups. As if that was not enough, he randomly sacked other tribes to pave way for his Ijaw Kinsmen.
- Dr EBisine of the College of Education Warri was a tribalistic and nepotistic Ijaw man who saw every other tribe as an enemy in COEWA. Same way he employed hundreds of ijaws without taking other ethnic group’s into consideration. Just as he was transferred to the Delta State School of MARINE, Burutu before he passed on, he had submitted a memo for employment to the GOVERNOR and was instructed to employ 32 new employees; do you know that all the names he pencilled down for employment were all IJAWS?
- Prof O.M Etebu of the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko refused to employ other ethnic nationality in the school but has succeeded in employing over 900 Ijaws of the 1200 staff strength of the INSTITUTION. Recently, she sacked staff from other ethnic groups. If you are in doubt, i will Post the sacked list. They are comprised of, Isoko, Edo, Urhobo and Igbos…
- Prof Charles Dokubo Quakers, he is the SA to the President on Amnesty Program. As bad as Peretomode and Prof O.M Etebu, he is worse. Recently, he constituted a 29-Man monitoring committee for the AMNESTY office, not one tribe from the Niger delta region made the list. Everyone person on the list are all Ijaw..
Given the forgoing, i think my fears are genuine. However, if i find a liberal Ijaw man, going forward, i wouldnt hesitate to queue behind him for elective position. Though i know a few, Engr Jude Sinebe and Dr Chris Ekiyor. I hope they are given an opportunity to serve in a higher capacity….
This means, If An Ijaw Man Becomes Governor, They Will Suffer The Rest Of Us!
