Prevention and management of stress


Considering the negative consequences of stress, it is
of paramount importance to ensure adequate preventive and management measures
are explored to prevent or adequately handle stress. Some of the measures to
prevent or manage stress effectively include:

Adequate planning: Poor planning is a major
disposing factor for stress. When planning is lacking, chaos occur which leads
to stress in an attempt to ensure that thing gets back to normal; so to prevent
or manage stress, it is important to organise oneself by planning what one uses
his/her energy in order to prevent or handle stress effectively.

Environmental control: Stress can be as a result
of one’s environment. What or who is in your environment can lead to stress.
Therefore it is important to control by getting rid of any situation or
individual that is susceptible to cause stress to an individual’s in order to
prevent or manage stress.

Self-love: Self-love is obviously one
of the greatest ways to prevent or manage stress. An individual should be aware
of his or her uniqueness and be able to know or determine what he or she can
and cannot do. There should be a deliberate attempt to avoid comparing oneself
with others in an unhealthy way. People should know their limits and trying by
all means to do thing within the limit of their capability.

Leisure: Leisure is a way to unwind
from the day to day hustles of life. Leisure can help in refreshing the body
and mind from stressful situation thereby preventing or managing stress. It can
also create lasting memories to look forward to thereby refreshing the mind
from stressful situations.

Exercise: Regular exercise helps the
body to regulate the rate of blood and oxygen circulation throughout the body
and effective metabolism which helps in improving health and productivity.
Exercise helps in strengthening of the muscles which include the muscles of the
heart which help in the regulation blood pressure and prevent heart attack and
stress.
6.   
Relaxation: Frequent relaxation can
help in making an individual to taking his or her mind off the stressful
situation. Relaxation helps in reducing the tension generated by stress and
there gives the brains enough time think of measures to counter the stress.
7.   
Good diet: A good diet, especially a
balanced diet not only promotes good health but also help in preventing or
managing stress. Good diet help in the provision of adequate nutrient and
efficient metabolism which help in the proper functioning of all the organs in
the body help in stress reduction.
