Abstract
This
project work focused on the assessment of poor refuse management and its health
implication in Uguno Orogun Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area,
Delta State. In other to have broader understanding four (4) study objective
were drawn from the study which includes, to determine the causes of poor
refuse management, to ascertain the health implication of poor refuse
management on human, to find out the implication of poor refuse management on
the environment and to find out the
various ways of improving poor refuse management. The descriptive survey method
was used for the study while the respondent was selected using the stratified
and simple random sampling technique, to obtained a sample size of 300
respondent. Data were collected using structured questionnaire. Data collected
were analyzed using chi-square (x2) statistical method. The result obtained revealed that there are
causes of poor refuse management, there are implication of poor refuse
management on human, there are environmental implication of poor refuse
management and there are ways of improving poor refuse management. Therefore
there should be adequate budgetary allocation; there should be provision of various
equipment for the management of refuse.
