Noise Pressure and Sound Level

Sound is a physical phenomenon of
alternating compression and expansion of air that propagate in all directions
from a source. These alternating compression and expansion can be described as
small changes in pressure around the atmosphere (Olojoba, 2008).

Environmental noise source such as
sawmill generate a board frequency range of noise or sound level. Sound
pressure relative to the atmosphere pressure range from 120 Micro-Pascal to
200, of a range of 1-10 million, and the physical quality of sound measure
level expressed in decibel (dB) (Achahu, 2000).
Unuraye and Olojoba (2003) stated that
sound level is a basic metric from which other biophysical metric be specify
long-term exposure to noise. It is usually sound level meter is an instrument
use for assessed an annual basis of environmental and occupational noise level.
They further stated that, common exposures for a long period of time 24 hours
or full day and  hours of a working day.
