We are currently recruiting for a major shipping identity in Papua New Guinea, they provide a variety of shipping services throughout the country including a coastal shipping operation that services the major ports as
well as providing specialist services for the resource sector.
As a pivotal role in the company the Fleet Engineering Manager will be response for all engineering related activity for their vessels principally safety, maintenance, reliability, systems and compliance to ISM, ISPS etc.
Day to day the individual will oversee and attend regular ship visits, vessel dockings and surveys, vessel repairs, hull, deck and engine room inspections as well as ensuring continuous improvement to the fleet department.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, have exceptional attention to detail, be flexible regarding the travel requirements within the job and have the ability to influence change.
Having previously served as Chief or Second Engineer and ideally with previous shore based superintendant capacity this is a great opportunity to take responsibility for the implementation of robust processes and procedures for the vessels and the ongoing management of a reliable fleet in a dynamic shipping company.
