We have a small team of Liberian technicians and now require an international IT Engineer to lead our Tech Department in order to sustain our growth.
Title of Job: Head of IT Services
Position Description: The Head of IT Services manages and delivers IT services to NATC’s clientele.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
§ Manage maintenance and on-site contracts; ensure scheduled and ad hoc requests for tech support are delivered in a timely and effective manner; ensure the appropriate technology and solutions are applied
§ Lead the Tech Department staff
§ Prepare technical proposals and estimates for projects (networking; server installation and support; websites)
§ Oversee repairs of client hardware (whether on site or at the NATC workshop)
§ Ensure all company documentation (Call Logs; Maintenance Logs, Intervention Reports; etc.) are correctly used and recorded
§ Ensure continuous training of NATC technicians
§ Develop an in-house trainee program
§ Advise NATC management on new products and services to be offered to clients
Primary Objectives:
§ Deliver the most effective and efficient service to clients
§ Streamline internal company procedures § Enable NATC’s staff to grow their technical skills on a continuous basis
§ Contribute to NATC’s growth and objective to become a leader of IT services in West Africa
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Logical thinking skills to solve IT problems
§ Operating systems: MAC OS; Windows XP, Vista and 7. Ubuntu is a plus.
§ Cabled and wireless networking; network design, implementation and maintenance
§ Installation, running and support to Windows 2003/2008/standard/enterprise servers; Knowledge of Linux-based servers is a plus.
§ Repairs of hardware such as faulty heavy duty printers and scanners; laptops and desktops
§ Microsoft Office Professional
§ Data Recovery
§ Installation and maintenance of V-SAT Systems
§ Considered as a plus: Database Creation and Management; Open Source Technologies; Programming Languages; Fiber Optics.
Education and Experience:
§ Bachelors of science or computer science or engineering; or equivalent
§ At least 5 years of work experience
NATC is willing to be flexible regarding educational qualifications in case the candidate has significant work experience.
