POSITION SUMMARY
As PSI/Liberia’s Human Resources Manager, you will work with the Senior Management Team to plan, implement, and assess employee relations and human resources policies and practices. The position calls for an energetic person who can work in a fast-paced environment, as well as someone who can contribute to and enforce policies that are conducive to a highly productive, challenging, but supportive work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, promotion, and, when needed, termination of staff
• Liaise with senior managers to monitor and review staff performance
• Fairly administering PSI/Liberia HR policies and resolving employee grievances
• Conducting orientation and training programs for new employees and career development of existing employees
• Assisting managers with annual and semi-annual appraisals, as well as with coaching to improve the PSI/Liberia management culture
• Recommending improvements in policy by keeping abreast of developments across the PSI world as well as the NGO community in Liberia
• Ensure job descriptions and employee files are up to date
• Ensure PSI/Liberia complies with labor laws and the highest standards of professional conduct
SKILLS
• Successful candidates will exhibit creative thinking and the ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure to deliver on deadlines
• Ability to establish strong relationships with colleagues based on trust and mutual respect
• Ability to recognize and reward strengths and give constructive feedback on weaknesses
• High standards of personal and professional integrity
QUALIFICATIONS
• Five years or more experience in Human Resources
• Excellent oral and strong written English skills
• Strong planning and supervision skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement HR policy changes
• Experience recruiting high-potential staff in a challenging HR environment
• NGO experience strongly preferred
