The first ICT specialist will report to the RTTI Educational Specialist geographically and to ICT Head based in Monrovia functionally and will be responsible for all trouble shooting activities at the RTTI and will manage local area networks and related gadgets. The person will support the ICT Head in designing and implementing
relevant database and other systems. She/he, in collaboration with other specialists and ICT head, will also be responsible for designing and implementing training activities at the RTTI level. She/he will be responsible to support the ICT team from Washington DC and the ICT Head in implementing Educational Technology related activities at the RTTI. The person will specifically be responsible for the following key functions
In collaboration with the ICT Head, manage and set-up the local area network and all related hardware and software including window server 2003.
Administer the firewall and overall internet network security at the RTTI;
Maintain existing anti-spam and anti-virus systems
In collaboration with the ICT Head and all RTTI ICT specialists, develop and set up new IT/IS policies;
Diagnose computer hardware and software problems and ensure all computer related problems are maintained and/or repaired.
Support the ICT head in analyzing training needs, developing training modules, and delivering trainings aimed to enhance computer literacy of RTTI academic and operational staff
Support the ICT head in designing and developing different database systems relevant to the RTTI information system need
Work with the ICT head, other RTTI trainers, and other specialists to design and produce teaching and learning materials using information technology.
Maintain sets of electronic data (including e-pictures and videos) related to class room teaching and other RTTI based activities and support the ICT head and communication officer in compiling publications
Work with the RTTI management in capturing pre and in-service teacher trainees’ bio data and developing student IDs and Certificates.
Perform other related duties as needed.
The second ICT Specialist will perform similar duties but report to the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) Program Manager. This person must be prepared to travel extensively and sometimes work in adverse circumstances.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
Education
University degree in Computer Science or other related fields
A+, CCNA, MCSA, MCSE preferred
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, CorelDraw)
Training in Window server 2003 required
Work Experience
At least 5 – 10 years of work experience in the field of IT
Experience in developing and delivering trainings
Experience in conducting training using PowerPoint presentation.
Special Requirement (Skills)
Strong background in Networking
Troubleshooting
Hardware and software maintenance
Ability to build and coordinate team activities
Coordination and collaboration skills with student and teachers.
