JOB DESCRIPTION:
The full-time Business Matchmaking Associate will generate business matchmaking reports and support the business development activities of the Business Development Manager and Business Operations Manager, including surveying local businesses and organizing events and meetings. Business matchmaking is a key task of Building Markets, which includes liaising with international buyers and local businesses to facilitate business connections as well as supporting local procurement solutions, including organizing site visits, buyer/supplier events, feasibility assessments, and identifying emerging needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Generate business matchmaking reports to connect local companies to the procurement needs of international and national buyers;
• Support the Business Development Manager in liaising with local companies for business development;
• Market Building Markets services to both international buyers and local suppliers;
• Identify procurement needs in priority sectors;
• Identify local businesses that can respond to the identified procurement needs;
• Assist in the development of and support of local procurement solutions, including organizing site visits, buyer/supplier events, feasibility assessments, and identifying emerging needs;
• Represent Building Markets at events, including trade fairs, meetings, etc.;
• Become familiar with the procurement procedures of major buyers;
• Assist in conducting briefings to the Government of Liberia and international agencies on local procurement and Building Markets services;
• Conduct any other duties as assigned by the Business Development Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
• University degree in a relevant field such as business administration/communications and/or substantial professional experience in senior positions (i.e. Masters/3 years experience, Bachelors/5 years or Secondary certificate/10 years); Private Sector or entrepreneurial experience is also favoured;
• Experience managing organizational processes as well as leading staff;
• Knowledge of the Liberian business community and industries and private sector experience;
• Experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships;
• Possess a creative mindset and ability to structure and find solutions to complex problems;
• Strong computer skills and thorough experience with programs such as MS Word and Excel;
• Strong English skills both written and oral;
• Confidence and good interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of Liberian and non-Liberian staff, business executives, government officials and Building Markets partners in a friendly and professional manner;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Strong motivation to promote private sector development in Liberia;
• Entrepreneurial and resourceful attitude.

Compensation
This is an experienced national staff position with a monthly pre-tax salary range of US$900.00 to US$1100.00 based on experience and evaluation. Benefits include transportation, communication allowances, family medical insurance and a daily lunch program.
