Winrock International Agronomist Job Vacancy in Liberia

The Smallholder Oil Palm Support Project is a three year (2011-2014) program designed to increase the productivity, profitability, marketing, and enabling environment of the oil palm sector. This project is financed by the United States Agency for International Development
(USAID) and is being implemented by international NGO, Winrock International
(www.winrock.org).
Winrock International is searching qualified candidates to fill the position of Agronomist to be based in Gbarnga.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities:
-Head the implementation team for the decentralized oil palm seedling production component;
-Organize implementation of activities under the processing component;
-Lead prospection and selection activities for potential nursery operators;
-Collaborate with M&E staff and consultants on production-related studies and assessments;
-Design, schedule and carry out nursery production trainings;
-Lead the nursery extension team in organizing technical support and field monitoring of tree
crops production, sales, distribution and out-planting; and,
-Ensure the collection and communication of technical performance and economic data to project
managers for the development of project strategy and inclusion in reporting;

JOB REQUIREMENT:
Necessary Qualifications and Skills:
-Minimum 3 years of professional experience with oil palm production;
-B.Sc in Agronomy with significant experience in oil palm production;
-Well organized, punctual and excellent team member;
-Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written
forms;
-Holds a valid Liberia motorcycle drivers license;
-Competence with Microsoft programs;
