On our Operations Graduate programme you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge by working in a number of key areas across the division on a rotational basis:
• The Structures & Productivity Team delivers ongoing improvements to the bank’s operating model to deliver cost efficiencies
• The Change Management Team is responsible for the implementation of major transformational changes across the entire Santander business in the UK
• The Fraud Team is accountable for detecting and preventing fraud and ensuring effective controls are embedded in our processes to provide the highest possible levels of protection
• The Complaints Team is focused on controlling and managing complaints across Santander UK
• The Accounting Control Team ensures that Santander UK achieves and maintains tight financial control whilst complying with accounting reporting requirements
• The Commercial and Retail Telephony Teams are committed to delivering industry-leading telephony services to our Commercial and Retail customers
You will work alongside the highly skilled and proficient specialists within the different Operations teams, and will have the opportunity to learn as much as you can from them.
This is a very hands-on role, where you will:
• Get an initial understanding of the different Operations areas, and how key levers such as people, processes and systems are utilised to achieve organisational objectives
• Work within a portfolio of prioritised projects ranging from design through to implementation planning and delivery.
• Be a key team member participating in business improvement reviews, from impact analysis to communication and implementation.
• Support the Operations Teams at appropriate strategic forums and steering groups
• Work across the different Operations sites in the UK
We are looking for driven and career minded professional individuals with a keen interest in banking and operations. You will need to hold or expect to obtain a 2:1 or equivalent in Business, Economics, Technology (IT), or another subject with a significant Mathematical/Statistical content. You will be someone who has the capacity to absorb, interpret and consolidate large volumes of information which you will present in a user-friendly and pragmatic way. You will have proven academic experience in complex problem solving and be able to work effectively alongside key stakeholders to enhance team credibility and efficiency.
We will expect you to produce quality deliverables within tight deadlines, be highly flexible, have a can-do team player attitude, and enjoy a hands-on approach. You’ll also need to be computer literate and highly competent in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Your ability to be flexible is key for this particular scheme as you could be posted on a rotational basis to a number of different sites throughout the UK. Generally, the locations we would look to place you at normally include the following: London, Milton Keynes, Glasgow, Leicester, Liverpool or Bradford amongst others.
