Job description: Lean Team Leader
In partnership with its client, Kenny-Whelan is currently seeking a Lean Team Leader to work for their client in the Dublin area. This role represents a unique opportunity to steer a world-class manufacturing facility through the challenging and rewarding process of instilling lean values at the core of our operations. This role will report directly to the Managing Director.
This dynamic and high profile position requires a professional individual who prides themselves on their excellent communication skills, high levels of organisation and their meticulous attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities:
• Work with the site Managing Director to develop and continuously refine the Lean implementation plan and be instrumental in the roll out of lean values/culture across the plant.
• Work with the site leadership team to train, communicate, standardise, sustain and facilitate the implementation of Lean tools and techniques
• Drive the Lean philosophy throughout the site by supporting, mentoring and coaching employees in increasing their understanding and knowledge of Lean principles and techniques
• Coach and conduct Lean training and toolbox talks at all levels of the business
• Develop, maintain and review Lean training materials
• Facilitate a variety of Kaizen events, and other Lean improvement activities which are aimed at removing non-value added activities
• Maximize the involvement of employees in process improvements
• Participate in the strategic planning process by establishing goals and objectives for lean implementation and cost reduction projects
• Actively network and collaborate with other parts of the organisation and externally at Group level to ensure sharing of best practice
Skills, Abilities and Education
• Undergraduate Honours Degree in one of these fields or similar: Lean Operations, Industrial / Manufacturing Engineering, Production / Supply Chain Management
• Expert knowledge of Lean and the Toyota Production System – TPS
• Minimum 5+ years of experience is desirable in process excellence
• Practical problem solving, 5S, visual management, Kaizen, TPM, OEE, SMED, value stream mapping
• Proven experience in leading Lean implementation within manufacturing organisations – any sector considered
• Can demonstrate significant and quantifiable achievement through the use of Lean
• Excellent training and facilitation skills
• Strong planning and project management abilities
• Ability to present at shop floor and boardroom level
• Passionate change agent, able to influence at all levels, proactive, driven to achieve, highly dynamic, able to work in a fast paced and changing environment
