Exeter University Music Scholarship, UK

The Music Scholarship Programme is open to any student keen to continue their musical development while studying at Exeter.  As such, there are no set criteria for becoming a Scholar (we do not expect you to have attained a particular grade etc.); rather, we look for willingness and enthusiasm to get involved in the many
musical opportunities available to you at the University.

Scholarships available

  1. Instruments (all genres)
  2. Voice (all genres)
  3. Composition/song writing
  4. Sound engineering

How to apply

  • Download the Music Scholarship Programme Application Form 2012/13  (Word document)
  • Read the guidance notes
  • Return the form to us by 7th September 2012
  • Auditions will be held during the first two weeks of the Autumn term, which commences on Monday 1st October 2012. 

Opportunities

Individual development

  • Individual Music Tuition: a number of lessons based on the level of your individual scholarship
  • Music Lectures and workshops: accelerate your progress and think more about your Music 

Performance opportunities

  • Lunchtime/Tea time recitals/Composition concerts
  • Scholars’ Ensemble concerts.

Your contribution

  • Active involvement in University music
  • Participating in Scholars Ensemble when required
  • Encouraging and assisting your peers at any level
  • Practising/preparing enough to progress in your lessons
  • A short review at the end of each term to document what you have achieved.
