Christian Aid tackles poverty at its source, challenging and changing the causes that keep poor people poor. And while one day soon we will end injustices like climate change, that won’t help the farmer whose crops are failing today. We need to help people adapt now and for tomorrow – and we need you to help us do it.
You’ll be part of the DFID funded Governance & Transparency Fund (GTF) team, which sits within Programme Impact & Learning (PIL) providing the necessary systems and administrative support to the GTF to make sure it runs smoothly. You will monitor project implementation and ensure that projects are implemented according to agreed plans. You may also be required to report to donors on plans and project outcomes. As sound systems are key to good project management and programme implementation you will monitor their success and be ready to provide the necessary support to make this happen.
It’s essential that you have plenty of experience of developing and implementing systems and ensuring that they are working well and understood by all. You’ll be the kind of person who understands the importance of making systems work in challenging environments. You will have a track record of developing and implementing financial and administrative systems and an ability to report to donors. You will have a knowledge and understanding of the application and analysis of governance in an international context. You will have experience of using different media to present and disseminate messages, case studies and reports.
You are likely to have worked in the NGO sector or with an international organisation. Whatever your background you’ll be able to interact with a wide cross section of people both in the UK and in other parts of the world. Your fluency in Portuguese or Spanish will be an advantage in this role.
