£21,171 – £24,520 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Applications are invited for the above posts in the Division of Animal Sciences, based in the School of Biosciences at the Sutton Bonington Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Division with
an international reputation for research in a wide range of subject areas.
The successful candidates will provide technical support across a number of research projects based within the Division of Animal Sciences including two DEFRA funded programmes that are examining strategies to reduce methane emissions from dairy cows and also looking at the environmental and nutritional benefits of bio-ethanol co-products.
The post holder will assist with the organisation & implementation of animal trials involving dairy cows and other farm animal species and with the analysis of samples produced using a range of laboratory techniques (eg. milk fat & protein composition, nitrogen, fibre & starch content of feed)
Candidates should have a good educational background with a minimum of an HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant biological discipline and practical research experience working with farm animals. An ability to communicate effectively and excellent inter-personal skills are essential as the post-holder will be required to liaise with University farm staff and commercial farmers. Candidates should be IT proficient and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
These full-time posts are available immediately and will be offered on a fixed term contract until 30 September 2013.
