Standard

organization of Nigeria (SON)
The standard
organization of Nigeria is one of the many government institutions established
by government to regulate standards and meet national and international quality
expectation of any product or service. It is expected that a
organization of Nigeria is one of the many government institutions established
by government to regulate standards and meet national and international quality
expectation of any product or service. It is expected that a
product that got
through a factory or production system should have a parameter specified for it
to meet before it is put into the market for patronage by customers. Standard
connotes fixing quality parameter and acceptability of quality level. Quality
should therefore be built into the production system right from the input stage
down through the production or conversion processes and eventually to finished
product stage. It is the thinking of government that people should not be
allowed to consume inferior product that could certainly harm them for its
substandard value
Now,
Banjoko S. (1989) sees quality as ‘the degree to which a particular product
satisfies the expectation of the customer with respect to certain tangible and
intangible attributes inherent in the design of the product or services and its
performance under normal use’. It is therefore expected that for product, the
customer’s perception of quality has to and must align with expectations of
value delivery. This is the index of quality and satisfaction.
