Position Summary
Futures Group is recruiting a HIV Prevention/Capacity Building Specialist for an upcoming program addressing HIV/AIDS prevention and care for most-at-risk-populations (MARPs) in West Africa.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the implementation of capacity building and provision of technical assistance to field activities
• Will work directly with partner organizations, communities and other resource users to execute the various activities.

Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree in one of the following fields: Anthropology, Behavior Change Communications, Public Health Education , Social and Behavioral Sciences, Community Development , Social or Community Psychology, Public Health and International Communications.
• At least seven years of experience working in HIV/AIDS prevention with at least five years working with MARP populations.
• Able to clearly demonstrate his/her understanding of the current scientific literature and global state-of-the-art knowledge in innovative HIV/AIDS prevention programming for MARP populations.
• Able to clearly demonstrate his/her understanding of the socio-cultural issues and nuances of working in such communities.
• Considerable experience and technical expertise working with community-based organizations, NGOs, and host-country governments.
• Demonstrated English and French skills (FS-3 level or higher). Local language skills are a plus.
• Well-organized, attentive to detail, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Works well independently and in teams; proactive in anticipating work requirements and problem solving.
• This position will be based in Accra and will require extensive travel throughout West Africa, with particular focus on Togo and Burkina Faso .
Preference will be given to local nationals.

Physical Demands
• Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility
