Quest Designer
The MMO Quest Designer is responsible for creating, fun, refreshing, challenging and scalable game experiences within the framework of the broader game.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Make quests that are fun and compelling, making players hungry for more
• Design and development of Quests/Missions and take them from concept to full implementation
• Develop robust quests that work to a target player mix, building in added value through repeat play options
• Work with the Lead Quest Designer to make crucial level design decisions and effectively communicate them to the team
• Generate clear and understandable design documentation to a level actionable by other implementers on the team
• Meet production schedules and deadlines
• Provide input on the game’s vision and help champion that vision to other team members
Required Experience and Skills:
• Proven ability to present ideas to a wide variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical in a succinct manner
• Experience with open world, multiplayer, or MMO/RPG level/quest design
• Team player with ability to work well under pressure
• Positive, professional attitude. Disciplined and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Minimum of 3 years game design experience in the game industry. MMO and RPG experience a definite advantage
• Exceptional organization, communication, and writing skills.
• Up to date with the latest MMO game design trends.
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent understanding of past and current game trends with a keen interest in MMOs and social online gaming
• Optional Desired Experience and Skills:
• Experience of the Unreal engine
• Knowledge of 3D modeling software for prototyping
• Experienced with scripting languages such as LUA, Python, or C++ structured scripting languages.
