General Manager, ASEAN – Powder Coating or Chemical related Industry

Responsibilities:
Job Purpose
• The position holds overall Profit, Legal and Compliance responsibility for ASEAN powder coatings businesses and operations and responsibility for developing and implementing a vision and strategy for the region in line with BU and SBU strategic goals.
• Geographically large and culturally diverse
• Manufacturing and commercial operations in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, Thailand (total employees ~ appr200)
• Position responsible for all functions within region.
• Covers all identified specialised market segments of BU Powder Coatings including Automotive, Architectural, Appliance, Industrial, Furniture and IT.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategic plans to overall profit and loss responsibility for powder businesses in ASEAN, including manufacturing sites in Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam and sales in several other countries including Thailand and responsibility for all operational and commercial functions and results within ASEAN
• Lead site GMs and functional managers to improve management effectiveness and efficiency to achieve various KPIs such as EBITDA, net sales, contribution margin, OWC %, working capital etc as set forth by BU/SBU in ASEAN region
• Work closely with SBU Managing Director, APAC in developing ASEAN business strategy based on deep understanding of the ASEAN local market and industry trend as well as BU/SBU directives.
• Manage and ensure all ASEAN sites and functions to run in line with all relevant entities, Bu/SBU Policies & Directives including Business Principles, Competition Compliance and Code of Ethics and other compliance regulations.
• Build and strengthen market leadership position within region
• Perform such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by SBU Managing Director, APAC or SBU Management team.
Requirements:
• Degree in Chemical / MBA in Business Administration
• At least 8 years P&L responsible experiences preferably in chemical industries, experiences in managing multiple sites in a cross cultural environment will be an advantage
• Rich experience in both Sales & Marketing and Manufacturing functions
• Technical knowledge of Powder Coatings industry or related industries must be comprehensive
• Must have a successful track record for leading sales team in high growth or emerging markets
