Come work
with the people who are shaping the future of the Internet!
Formed in
1998, ICANN is a nonprofit public benefit corporation responsible for the
global coordination of the Internet’s system of unique identifiers. These
include domain names as well as the addresses used in a variety of Internet
protocols.
ICANN’s
mission is to ensure a stable, secure and unified global Internet. To reach
another person on the Internet, we have to type an address into a computer – a
name or a number. That address has to be unique so computers know where to find
each other. ICANN coordinates these unique identifiers across the world.
Without that coordination, we would not have one global Internet. ICANN is an unusual
organization, it is based on a multi-stakeholder concept that brings interested
voices around the world into the bottom-up policy-making process for the
Internet’s domain name system. ICANN does not control content on the Internet,
it cannot stop spam and it does not deal with access to the Internet. However,
through its coordination role of the Internet’s naming system, it does have an
important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet.
ICANN is an
Equal Employment Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate based on race,
color, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status,
veteran status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation,
  • age or other protected characteristics and
complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
