We currently have an opportunity within our Energy & Resources Business group for a Senior Electrical & Control Systems Engineer to join the team. Located in the Melbourne CBD office, this is a challenging opportunity to secure a position within a performance driven company, built on a culture of teamwork, respect and integrity.
This position has primary responsibility for the development of innovative designs in response to client requirements.
You will have demonstrated abilities in providing technical leadership in at least two of the following:
• High and Low voltage industrial power distribution systems
• Motor control systems
• PLC based control systems for automatic control of unattended plant
• Plant and wide area SCADA / telemetry networks
• Instrumentation systems
As well as competence in:
• Selection of instruments and electrical components for systems
• Preparation and use of contract documents
• Application of Australian Standards to design and operating systems
• Project scope establishment, tender preparation, concept and detail design
• Support of clients interests during project construction and commissioning
You will be required to work within multi-disciplinary teams on specific Melbourne, regional, national and internationally based projects. Within this role you will also be responsible for planning, managing projects and undertaking field investigations. Critical to the role will be your ability to plan and coordinate resources to implement programs, whilst meeting proposal and project deadlines within budget.
The successful candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering and have at least 5-10 years experience in consulting engineering, manufacturing, mining or general industries. Experience gained from on-site roles in construction or commissioning are seen as desirable.
The ideal applicant will have enthusiasm and passion for a wide range of electrical services. We seek individuals with the ability to think analytically by providing creative solutions for our clients. Strong people, presentation and report writing skills will be essential, accompanied by a customer focused attitude. Excellent time management skills with a process management mentality will be key to this role.
You must be an Australian Permanent Resident to apply, with the ability to travel for short (weeks) and longer (months) periods as required.
