Job Description:
The Casino Regulatory Authority is a statutory board, set up on 2 April 2008, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, to administer and enforce the Casino Control Act. We ensure that the casinos are free from criminal influence, that gaming is conducted honestly. We regulate the casinos to contain the potential of a casino to cause harm to minors, vulnerable persons and society at large.
Responsibilities
As an inspector with the Inspection and Compliance Division, you are responsible for enforcement of the internal controls standard issued by the Casino Regulatory Authority and supervising the casino operators to ensure compliance with the internal controls standard and other regulatory requirements. You will be deployed on-site at the casinos on shift duties and be part of a team of inspectors who handle and resolve patron disputes, inspect for regulatory compliance and report any evidence of fraud within the casinos. The Inspection and Compliance Division regulates all aspects of the casino operations and you will also be assigned to review operational framework and policies. You will also have the opportunity to be posted to other Divisions within the Casino Regulatory Authority to experience other forms of duties and responsibilities.
You will get to interact with people from different walks of life and be at the forefront of Singapore’s casino regulatory regime.
Requirements
o A good degree in Accountancy, Law, Economics or other Business related field
o 1 – 2 years of experience in regulatory, enforcement and/ or auditing and compliance work will be preferred;
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
o Good command of written and spoken English. Ability to converse in Mandarin and local dialects would be an advantage;
o Adaptable and able to work under stressful conditions;
o Ability to work both independently and is also an effective team player in a matrix environment; and
o Relish the challenge of working on shifts, meeting people from different walks of life and a highly dynamic, mobile and non-desk bound job.
