donors. Currently, PWC is faced with a need to increase, improve and build organisational capacity in order to meet the demands of a successfully growing organisation. The Programme Manager will be expected to help PWC meet those demands by bringing strong leadership skills to the organization and innovative thinking that will improve PWC’s organisational capacity and allow it’s work to continue to grow and thrive.
Responsibilities
• Operate and lead an effective organization by ensuring that meaningful work is being carried out on the ground across all PWC programs
• Point of contact on all communications with donors.
• Improve PWC’s financial resources by strengthening existing donor relations and establishing new donor relationships. Additionally, the Program Manager will be tasked with seeking a more sustainable system for funding PWC’s activities.
• Build organizational capacity, particularly focusing on the development of staff and employee abilities and skills (through hiring, training and management).
• Oversee staff implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities.
• Assist the Executive Director in ensuring that all PWC activities are aimed at fulfilling PWC’s mission.
Required Skills
• Strong work ethic, personal initiative, ability to work on own and innovative
• Strong written and verbal communication skills – fluent in English, spoken Swahili and Maasai an advantage.
• Excellent management skills and proven experience in management
• Understanding of NGO operations and strong knowledge of women’s development issues, education, micro-finance and pastoralism
• Highly computer proficient, including Microsoft Office programs
• Work experience not less than 3 years.
• Prepared to travel to remote areas at least one week a month.
