African Barrick Gold Underground Drill Rig Electrician Job Vacancy in Tanzania

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced Underground Drill Rig Electrician. The incumbent will be responsible to provide electrical service duties to the mining department within company procedures, laid down rules, regulations and safety standards. The position reports to the Underground Electrical Supervisor
and the roster is 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Install and maintain electrical equipment on electrical drills to reduce unplanned maintenance and optimise availability
• Overhaul electrical equipment in accordance with set company policies and procedures
• Complete required testing and safety checks on electrical drills
• Attend to breakdowns and complete necessary faultfinding
• Carry out defined and necessary electrical equipment checks
• Ensure total adherence to all safety, health and environmental procedures and guidelines as well as all other company policies and procedures
• Complete modifications on drills in accordance with specified instructions
• Ensure equipment operating licences are kept up to date
• Provide appropriate on the job training and coaching to less experienced personnel

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

Education Requirements:
• FTC certificate or Trade certificate (Electrical) from a recognized training institution
• High voltage certificate obtained from a recognised training institution

Experience Requirements:
• At least 5 years experience in a similar position on underground Drill Rigs
• Experience in 3 phase 525 Volt installation and maintenance
• Sound knowledge of electrical drills, high and low voltage installations and reticulation diagrams
• Experience in deep level trackless and conventional mining operations
• Computer literate in Microsoft Package Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
