African Barrick Gold Planned Maintenance Foreman Job Vacancy in Tanzania

Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent we seek to appoint a Planned Maintenance Foreman at our Bulyanhulu gold mining operation. The Planned Maintenance Foreman will supervise day to day planning jobs and ensure the jobs are completed in a timely manner with high quality. The successful incumbent will also be
responsible for optimizing Bulyanhulu’s maintenance performance by using best practices maintenance planning and scheduling techniques.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Prepare short and long term maintenance plans/ schedules in consultation with all Maintenance Foreman, Supervisors, Mining Superintendents, Mine management and the Supply Department.
• Complete maintenance work order planning details (approved work requests)
• Conduct monthly manpower loading to ensure the effective utilisation of available labour and labour capacity planning to ensure the timely identification of labour needs.
• Conduct the weekly/monthly planned maintenance scheduling meeting to establish joint ownership, approval and commitment to the proposed work list for the next week and review prescheduled work for weeks 2 – 4.
• Liaise with stores and suppliers to continually establish materials and spares leveling strategies to ensure the availability of parts and components.
• Maintain the integrity of the Maintenance Module of the Pronto system, ensure the master data including equipment register and equipment details are up to date.
• Assist with the provision, review and analysis of maintenance KPI, Budget reports and other relevant information.
• Establish, monitor and report maintenance planning KPI including:
• Planned verse actual job time estimates
• Backlog
• Breakdown, planned routine maintenance and non-routine maintenance ratios
• Planned maintenance scheduled compliance
• Planning lead time
• Compile detailed shutdown work packages for shutdowns
• Maintain the underground technical library and drawing register.
• Assist in the creation of Bills of Materials and job task lists.
• In a consultative approach, develop maintenance planning techniques, practical tools, processes and training aids which align to organizational business processes.
• Ensure all employees are trained, refresher trained and signed off proof of training records are available at all times.
• Implement an effective training and development program for employees to develop their skills, and conduct employee performance evaluations.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

Education Requirements:
• Trade Qualified – Mechanical Fitter, Electrician or Instrumentation.
• Certificate in Maintenance Planning or Engineering

Experience Requirements:
• Previous supervisory and planning experience
• Proven knowledge of mineral processing and mining equipment
• Microsoft Word Suite of Products – Word, Project, Excel & Access
• Computerised Maintenance management Systems – Ellipse, Pronto MIMS
• Ability to train and pass on knowledge
